antarashanti
Sanskrit meaning: refers to the tranquility, calmness and harmony found within oneself.
“Being a curious student of life itself & bringing more & more awareness to the mind & body connection, I naturally brought this more into my teaching.”
My journey began in the UK, in the county of Lancashire, surrounded by a loving family and having a deep connection to the outdoors, music and the animals around me. I often loved to dance, play with my sister and friends outside and I played the piano alongside school. As a family we went caravanning around the beautiful English countryside for our holidays and spent some of our school holidays in Wales with my grandma on her farm. I often roamed in nature which sparked my love for movement and exploration and I was drawn to the excitement of learning about the human body; later changing one of my high school subjects from music to physical education. I embraced the physical activity and camaraderie of sports throughout my years at school but it wasn’t until I experienced the discipline and freedom of cross-country running that I started to realize how magnificent the mind and body was!
Welcome, my name is Sarah
Amongst my health and fitness interests, I always had a sense that there was much more to life beyond the body and the conditioning we learn and live. As the inevitable challenges and traumas of life came my way, including a near death experience, I used movement as a lifeline and journeyed inwards; unlearning and reshaping, whilst being led along the path of coming to know the truth of myself more deeply.
Seeking truth…
Leaving ‘home’ to live overseas was a major turning point in my life. I’ve had the privilege of teaching people from diverse backgrounds and guiding them to overcome their inner challenges, while building meaningful connections. Highlights have included organizing and helping through life-changing events, seeing how many overcame their fears and grew within themselves as a result. I have also overcome some of my own fears stepping into the unknown with an open heart, and leaning more into a deep sense of trust in where I was being led.
Now settled in Australia, I find peace in Yin Yoga, a few creative activities, nature walks and time with friends, often losing track of time in deep connections and stillness throughout these. I’m passionate about nurturing the whole being as well as many healthy things that help us, the Earth and all its beings, to be natural, free and unconditionally loved as we all evolve. In particular, I love immersing myself into learning about the body, health, wellbeing & spirituality, reading insightful books and real life stories, and supporting others in any way that I can.
Finding purpose & people…
Along this journey so far, what I have learnt is that healing happens to us in the moments we slow down, connect with the body, the breath and our inner world. As it is with kindness, care and compassion that we can invite balance into our lives and allow what is true for us at any given moment. I look forward to serving you as together we discover the possibility of each and every moment.
